About Karla Bailey

Karla Bailey was elected Peel School Board Trustee, Brampton Wards 7&8 in October 2022 on a platform of advocating, representing, and keeping families connected. All in an effort to ensure every child within the PDSB has an opportunity to get the world class barrier-free education, as is their right.

Karla Bailey is a longtime resident of Brampton. As a graduate of the Peel District School Board herself, she recognized that even though there are serious challenges within the board, there were also opportunities to make the PDSB a place where children receive a world class education. That is why Karla chose to raise her children in Peel.

As well as being a School Board Trustee, Karla utilizes her extensive education to support children, families and the community in her full-time role as the Executive Director of a nonprofit organization within Peel Region.

Karla is an active and engaged community member, serving on various committees and boards. One of the many boards she serves on is the Ontario Public School Board Association in the role of Policy Development Work Group as well as the Black Trustee Caucus.
